Dhigurah: long island, protected ocean
Dhigurah stretches for more than three kilometres and is known for its long beach, tropical vegetation and natural sandbank at the island’s southern tip. The local village occupies only a small part of the island, leaving much of the landscape green and undeveloped.
As an inhabited local island, alcohol is not available and modest dress is expected away from the designated bikini beach. The reward is a more authentic connection with Maldivian island life.
